painkillers..
i wonder why am i writing all this, since i'm usually a private person, but i guess i'm just imagining that no-one will read this anyway..
let me share a fable.
There' was this male, throughout his youth, he thought he being healthy was great, and a chance to try things out..therefore he did every sport he could, from the usual basketball, soccer to Golf , tennis etc.. God bless tat he could pick things up quite quickly.. and he enjoyed sports so much..but he didn't really take care. a bruise was nothing, a strain was temporal... he never regret his youth..
in fact, he did something really 'stupid/courageous' one day, during a camp, he 'pop' his back while trying to 'save' this young maiden that he really liked. he was in pain for a while, but he thought he'll be fine, therefore he continued to train at the sport he was most proficent. He was stupid. the pain never left. He developed a disease instead.
But this male was blessed, along the way in his life, he fell in love with a good friend.. He was hesistant at first, becoz he was always in pain, could he take care of her? well, she said she didn't mind, and u know wat? unlike the other dates tat he had, tat only gave 'lip-service' to , " I don't really mind" ...she really showed it with her actions.And he learnt so much abt love from this young lady. She showed Christ's love, by looking beyond wat was hurting and 'deformed' and really learn how to love in her special way. Her parents and even her grandma was shocked at first, but over time, instead of despising him, they even prayed for him. Oh wat a blessed man he is!!
This 'loving' couple had almost everything they humanely needed. Both parents were supportive. Their friends were happy for them. But there was a problem. In the eyes of the world, they're too young. Its the fact. And thus, now is the season for the two to wonder," do really love this person enough to take of him/her for the rest of this life.." wat a committment.. he isn't a cripple, and he won't be, unless he gets into an accident, but hey isn't the chance of cripple from an accident the same for everyone ??? haha
with supportive friends around him, he lives on becoz there is a living God.
God was gracious too, through his way, he stopped this male from doing wat wasn't his will...and he humble this once haughty impatient spirit. He has accepted wat is on him, and now he's glad to live out the purpose of his life with the thorn. Becoz he looks forward to the day in heaven, when this painful body will be not more. Wat a joyous day it'll be.
These days, there are very diffcult times of pain, and sorrow; even pity at times. But he knows that God has allowed this for a reason. And an acceptance heart does not mean he doesn't want to be healed, he does but he will never feel any less if God doesn't in this lifetime.
He takes painkillers as sweets, its neccessary at times but he has become 'wiser'..
Life is too short to remember the pain. We all hurt, so wat?
If we could live life alittle more meaingfully, with a clearer purpose, and to love the person that God has placed in our lives abit more...
this place on earth, would never need painkillers anymore.
